The Present Worth Principle of Depreciation

Speaker: Claire Donias, FASA
Description: REGISTER NOW! 3 hour workshop prior to board meeting. 3 hours of ASA CE The topic of "The Present Worth Principle of Depreciation", first appearing in the 1930’s in Engineering Valuation and Depreciation as published by Iowa State University, home of the “Iowa Curves.” The concept is rather theoretical and not based on any field observation and research for which Iowa State Engineering Station has been noted for. It has not been used to any great extent except by property taxing authorities because it produces (abnormally) high values. If applied properly, however, it is a valid concept. The seminar will discuss the concept and the proper application as used successfully by the presenter, Claire H. Donias, FASA.
